"The reality is not that I lack respect for the law; it’s that I have greater respect for justice. Where there is a conflict between the law and the higher moral code that we all share, my loyalty is to that higher moral code."

A poll conducted by Elon University during the last week of February, 2013, found that up to 76% of North Carolinians support reforming our state cannabis laws.
It is my opinion that cannabis legalization may be the single most important issue facing our state and our nation today. No other issue addresses health, jobs, climate change, and human rights issues (to name but a few) as does the legalization of cannabis.

Why?
“One day we must ask the question, ‘Why are there forty million poor people in America?’ And when you begin to ask that question, you are raising questions about the economic system, about a broader distribution of wealth. When you ask that question, you begin to question the capitalistic economy. And I’m simply saying that more and more, we’ve got to begin to ask questions about the whole society. We are called upon to help the discouraged beggars in life’s market place. But one day we must come to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring. It means that questions must be raised. You see, my friends, when you deal with this, you begin to ask the question, ‘Who owns the oil?’ You begin to ask the question, ‘Who owns the iron ore?’ You begin to ask the question, ‘Why is it that people have to pay water bills in a world that is two thirds water?’ These are questions that must be asked.”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Don’t believe any answer they give us; Obama has proven himself and his administration to be every bit as sold-out and dishonest as any president we’ve ever had.
Obama favors stiffer gun regulations because it’s expedient, but I don’t see him or any other president in the near future being stupid enough to actually try and ban guns. On the other hand, he has proven himself ready, willing, and able to trample much of the Bill of Rights through indefinite detention of “suspected domestic terrorists”. He also has no problem with assassinating American citizens anywhere in the world without due process or a trial. I won’t even get … Continue reading
Where is your line in the sand?
There are 47.1 million Americans who depend on food stamps to eat. The elites are plotting to take these food stamps away, along with other “entitlement” programs that keep the poor from destitution. The slashing of trillions of dollars from Medicare, Medicaid and other social programs, given the political impasse in Washington and the looming “fiscal cliff,” now seems certain. There are 50 million people considered to be living below the poverty line, but because the poverty line is so … Continue reading

“The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who is able to think things out for himself… Almost inevitably, he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable.” ~ H.L. Mencken

Something To Think About As You Fall Asleep Tonight
“My primary concerns are threats from the powerful. I’m not worried about criminals, even organised crime. Or terrorists, even organised terrorists. Those groups have always existed, always will, and they’ll always operate on the fringes of society. Societal pressures have done a good job of keeping them that way. It’s much more dangerous when those in power use that power to subvert trust. Specifically, I am thinking of governments and corporations. Let me give you a few examples. The global … Continue reading
