On this day in 1959 Fidel Castro was sworn in as prime minister of Cuba. He officially stepped down two years ago. My interest in Cuba began several years ago when I heard about a documentary called, “The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil.” It took several years before I finally managed to view the film, but it was worth the wait.
