Rest In Peace, Brother Tim

Today I found out my online friend, Timothy O’Donnell, died this past Monday, February 1, 2010. He was only sixty years old. He posted on Facebook as late as 3pm Eastern time that day, so his death must have been as unexpected to those close to him as it was to his online friends.

I didn’t know Brother Tim very well, mostly through his writing at Blog of Revelation. Tim had his own ideas and a unique point of view, and from what I could tell, he stood by them no matter what anyone else said or thought, and that’s all that matters to me. Brother Tim was a layman prison minister and he loved his work. The world needs more Brother Tims,  a lot more.

I just want the world to know that this man – sincere in his beliefs and certain in his faith as he understood it will be missed; by his wife, his children, his grand-children, the prisoners he visited,… and by me.

Go in peace and grace Brother Tim, you are forever my brother.

UPDATE: Brother Tim was looking forward to seeing his “beloved Saints” in their first visit to the Superbowl. They won.

Please accept my condolences and sympathy on your loss.
I find it interesting, and encouraging, those bonds that can be formed between persons who never spend time together face to face. We can be influenced, encouraged, enlightened, and even disillusioned by the often accidental contact we find in the thoughts writings of someone else.

In reading your online journal myself, I have read the comments posted by your friend, Brother Tim. I must confess, I was hoping to be privileged enough to read his comments on your investigation into to life of Jesus.

He now knows for sure what awaits us all on the other side. Our source of apprehension may make us, and those who came before, uncomfortable enough with our prospective eternal destinies to contemplate our own theories, although we’ll never know until we get there.

    R.I.P. Brother Tim.
